Border Collie Attacks Pumpkin
Dixie destroys a Giant Pumpkin. A couple of weeks ago my brother MattB needed me to baby sit his dogs (Dixie and Koko) for the day. Dixie is a border collie who always seems to find a task. She must have something to do all the time… They spent the day in our shop where we build wind turbines. Our good freind Zubbly grows Giant Pumpkins and he sent some seeds last year. Heather (my Mom) planted those last spring and gave my daughter Maya the largest pumpkin of the lot. It sat around here in the shop for a couple months and then.. when we had Dixie and she seemed kinda bored we decided to let her take out her anxieties on the giant pumpkin. Over the course of about 10 min she totally destroyed an 80 pound pumpkin. In this video we’ve compressed about 7 of those min. into about 3. Adam Brandon filmed this, check out adambrandon.com. He was up working with us on a DVD were making that shows how we build wind turbines. Too much fun!!!! Anyhow… sometimes otherpower.com spends its time building windmills.. sometimes it spends its time playing with the dogs. Watching dogs is usually better than watching television. One months worth of dog food costs about as much as your average cable connection.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Nevada Senator Harry Reid today discussed the news that A-Power Energy Generation Systems plans to build a new wind turbine production and assembly plant in Nevada. This state-of-the-art facility will create more than 1000 jobs for Nevadans who will build wind turbines fir projects in North and South America. “I urged A-Power to choose our state as the site for the plant because I believe Nevada can be a world leader in clean energy,” said Reid. “This industry will help us create jobs immediately, while diversifying our state’s economy for the long-term.”

I thought that was a Scottish deerhound.
No offense but my Border Collie Socky, is smarter but you have a really smart dog! i am ten and i trained her myself
Hahahahahahah! thats sooo cute!
at first when it got faster and more high pitched i was like Oh my God!!! what the hell just happened to that dog????i thought he like had surgery or something! hahahahah!!!!
Border Collies and Afghans in the same room together? They are polar opposites as far as intelligence.
HA, I love how she totally forgot about the treats, cause kicking the shit out of a pumpkin was way more fun! Thankfully my Border Collies a little calmer than that lunatic! Good stuff.
i got one tODAY!!! :D thumbs up btw
Dixie is amazing!
Check out my Border Collie, Tipper : )
That’s one way to make a Jack-O-Lantern lol
LOL, she tore the hell out of that Pumpkin. I have a 5 month BC Female, she is awesome. So smart, and I’m pretty sure my shoulder will be disclocated soon from the amount of fetch and playing we get to do, but its worth it, she is so fun. Border Collies cannot be tuckered out by playing for like 30 mins, you need to get a few hrs in every day for them to be happy and sleep good. Mine is passed out beside me as I type lol, good day today outside.
LOL!!! Your dog is very Loyal! I wish i have a more loyal dog :)
Pumpkin carnage!
Our Border Collie ate our neighbors pond dam while chasing moles.
now thats determination
Obviously a Billy Corgan fan.
That’s one determined dog
I miss my border collie. They’re so energetic and can really drive you crazy sometimes, but they’re so incredibly sweet.
The thing about the threshold of a house in general is the dog is ‘defending’ it. Or so they usually think.
By the bell ringing (and no one coming in right away) and the postman walking away right after delivering the mail, these people are ‘retreating’ from the dog and his barking, so the dog has done what it saw as it’s job.
I think with an hour or two any decent dog trainer would have been able to help you get rid of that behaviour. Hell, I think even I could have done it.
my bc is nuts also , gotta love em
your dog needs prozac
what a savage beast!
i like how it ravaged the whole pumpkin when it could have easy got the treat right off the bat.
i had two borders years back. the one wasa right nasty bastard when the door bell rang. a great loving dog until then. also was dangerous when the postie came round.
in the end i had to buy a static electric bark control collar. calmed him down. he never ever threatened me i must add but bit my sister in-law so i re-homed him. i had a baby on the way and i could not take any risks.
that was 16 years ago and now i have a beautiful rottie called blade.
love him to bits and the best breed imho
